Wow. 2012 has been one crazy year. I can’t believe it’s over already. I feel like I haven’t done a thing all year. I blame the pregnancy and having a newborn. That will really take it out of you. I didn’t even meet one of my goals for the year. 🙁 Sad, I know. But fear not, I am just going to make them my goals for 2013 and I’m more motivated than ever to make it happen. So here we go again.
- Make more time for DIY
- Get organized
- Be healthier
- Stick to a budget
- Learn to use my camera
- Dress cuter
For 2012’s details on these goals check out the post {here}. Here’s 2013’s updated details:
Make More Time For DIY
Now that I am a stay at home mom my time is not consumed with work and all that entails, instead it revolves around Baby Thor and his wants and needs. I’m hoping that in the coming months he’ll be able to entertain himself for longer than five minutes and I’ll be able to work on things a little bit here and a little bit there. Hopefully. I still have a couple of things to finish in his nursery, so the nursery reveal is coming soon. Stay tuned. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later. I also have a huge list of projects I want to accomplish in this new year and I am going to make a huge effort to make a giant dent in this list.
Get Organized
Again, still a HUGE issue. I’ve been planning out some really great ways to get the chaos under control and I can’t wait to follow through and make the house run more smoothly. As well as being able to find things when I go looking for them.
Be Healthier
It’s going to happen. It helps that I will be starting Weight Watchers too. I still plan on doing a clean kitchen so that will also help with this goal. I am ready to start my Jillian Michael’s workouts as well. I love how short the workouts are and how quickly you start seeing results. So great.
Stick To A Budget
This one shouldn’t be too hard, because now with a baby there’s no more “running to the store real quick”. I really have to think about if it’s worth it for me to go to a store. Plus I am going to hop on my mom’s New Years Resolution. She is only making one and this is it: she is not going to buy any hobby stuff. She (and I) both have enough craft supplies to last a lifetime. If we are working on a project and we need 1/2 a yard of black fabric, then we can go buy it. But we can not purchase any other fabric just because we are at the store. This should help me stick to my craft budget and have extra leftover for more DIY projects.
Learn To Use My Camera
I still need to do this, although most of the pictures I take are with my phone. I love always having a camera handy so that I can just keep tapping the button to take 800 pictures of my baby in one little photo shoot. That way I get every expression that crosses his little face. I love how the pictures taken with my phone upload to the Google cloud. And I love that Google just updated their settings so that you can now upload the full-sized image to the cloud, whereas before all uploaded images were condensed. I just wish that I had an optical zoom. Are you listening Google? Next Christmas I would like a camera, with a good optical zoom, that will automatically upload all my pictures to the cloud. Also, if you could make it easier to export pictures to a printing site or even offer printing yourself that would be awesome.
Dress Cuter
I feel like I wear the same thing every day. I see all these cute clothes on TV and Pinterest and I want them. So after I lose some weight, I am going to take myself on a little shopping spree and load up on some super cute outfits. Hopefully by then Baby Thor won’t be spitting up so much and I won’t have to wear so much spit up. That doesn’t really add anything to an outfit.
A lot of these tie together, so by working on one I should be working on others as well, right? Welcome 2013! It’s going to be a great year.
