This is one of my favorite go to smoothies. I love it in the morning or in the afternoon. Or even as a sweet treat after dinner.
And I’m not even a creamsicle fan. I mean, they’re okay. But something about the orange popsicle part of it doesn’t taste right to me. I think it’s because it tastes a little fake.
But this smoothie? This smoothie is delicious!
Even baby Thor loves it. I have to drink it in secret. I usually will pour him a mini smoothie of his own. But that only distracts him from my smoothie for about 97 seconds. He’s a chugger.
I think this smoothie actually tastes remarkably like an Orange Julius. But without all the processed ingredients.
It’s really only two ingredients.
Creamsicle Smoothie
- 3 mandarin oranges
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of ice
- coconut sugar to taste (optional)
Put all ingredients in the blender and blend away.
I usually add coconut sugar if my fruit isn’t very ripe or if I’m wanting something extra sweet. Otherwise my smoothie is only fruit and water. You can’t get more simple or natural than fruit and water.
For a thicker, creamier smoothie try using frozen bananas. I would cut back on the ice (or eliminate completely) and add some extra water to help the blender. A splash of vanilla would also be good for those who are wanting more of a vanilla cream flavor.

Oh this sounds delicious Amber. I will definitely have to try it. I freeze all my bananas for my smoothies, you should try it if you haven’t already. It’s a good way to keep bananas longer and I love the texture it gives a smoothie.

I have tried them frozen. They are great. I just don’t have any frozen at this time. You should try it and report back. Let me know what you think.
