One of my favorite products is Lush Rehab Shampoo. It works wonders for my hair. I love it and I know you will too.
Hey everyone! I am starting a new series. I am going to be sharing all of my favorite things with you. So as I find something that I love, I will post about so you can try it and love it too. I’m compiling a list of all these posts on My Favorite Things page, so be sure to check it out.
So yes, shampoo is not craft related. But I can not say enough good things about it.
Over Labor Day weekend we were in Vegas with some friends. While the boys did their fantasy football draft stuff we went shopping. We ended up spending a good portion of our time in Lush. We smelled all the things. We watched demos of the bath bombs. We tried not to eat the soap. Haha. But seriously, those citrus ones. Mmmmm. You know me and citrus.
I was intrigued by the shampoo. I have thick, long hair with a natural curl. Because of this, my hair stays clean longer. Well, it doesn’t get oily or greasy for about a 7- 10 days. I can stretch to 12-14 days if I use dry shampoo. So really I only wash my hair once a week at most.
Don’t worry. I still shower. But once I have taken the time to dry, iron, and style my luscious locks I don’t really want to wash them and start all over if I don’t have to. So I throw my hair up in a bun when I shower. I don’t use a shower cap, although I could. I just never have.
But back to the shampoo. So, I have dry scalp. Or product build up. Or both. I was telling the girl at Lush about my hair and scalp and she swore that the Rehab shampoo was the way to go for me. Like the name implies, it is to restore your hair. I wanted to try it, but those bottles are pricey. So I opted for the smallest bottle. Just to try it out.
Of course, I had to buy Lush conditioner too. It only makes sense. I opted for Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner. It smells AMAZING! It has a beautiful floral scent that lingers in my hair for days. I was a bit worried because I use Aussie 3 Minute Miracle on my hair, as it’s dry and needs extra moisture but this conditioner does the trick as well.
After ONE use of the Rehab shampoo, my flaky scalp was no more. I couldn’t believe it. I have tried other natural alternatives. Homemade hairspray with essential oils, apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil. I couldn’t bring myself to try Head and Shoulders because I don’t like the way it smells. And I have to smell my hair all day long.
Now, do I use it every time I shampoo? No. But I do use it about every third or fourth time. It keeps my scalp nice and flake free.
Be aware, this is a handmade shampoo so it will not lather the way drugstore brands do. So if you are used to really sudsy shampoo, this is not the that. It does suds up some, but you have to work it into a lather in your hands first. It find it really difficult to do in my hair. I have used my small 3 oz bottle about four times now, and I expect to get at least another four washes. I think if you have thinner or shorter hair than I do you should be able to stretch it even farther.
Please be aware that after using this shampoo and conditioner my hair felt stringier than it does with my regular shampoo and conditioner. However it’s perfectly fine once it dries, so don’t worry. I just use my normal products in it and it’s fine.
Have you tried Lush shampoo and conditioner before? What kind is your favorite?
