I have heard and read many a time that Pinterest makes people feel like they are failing.
Like everyone else makes beautiful cookies and cakes.
Like everyone else throws fancy birthday parties for 1-year-olds.
Like everyone else is perfectly organized.
Like everyone else has an immaculately clean home.
But I don’t think that people really think beyond the image that they are seeing. The images that you see on Pinterest are staged. Maybe not all of them, but the vast majority are.
Katie at Clarks Condensed thought it would be fun to do a Behind the Scenes post link up where bloggers take pictures of what is just outside of their Pinterest shots.
I just have a few images to share with you this time, but I definitely plan to be more aware and snap a few more for you as I go.
This week Thor and I made rainbow rice and I was just snapping some pictures for myself when I realized they would be great for this post. So I took some extras for good measure.
I labeled this top one for you.
This one is the mess on the table left over from making the rice. A big bag of rice, my camera bag (because I’m taking pictures, duh), ziplock bags, wipes, my planners, my laptop charge cable, and Thor’s coloring book.
And this one is my living room coffee table. It’s an overflow for the kitchen counters. Old blender, egg cartons, juicer, etc. I really need to do some spring cleaning around here.
See. We’re not always picture perfect over here.
Check out these other bloggers and see their dirty laundry.
