Inspired by the delicious mint juleps from Disneyland, this copycat mint julep recipe makes you feel like you are at the happiest place on earth.
One of my favorite things to get when we visit Disneyland is a mint julep.
If you haven’t tried one before they are different but quite refreshing.
Especially when it’s hot outside.
It’s minty and citrusy, which sounds like a weird combo.
But trust me. It’s delicious.
I love going to Disneyland this time of year.
It’s all decked out in Halloween decorations.
I’ve never been to Disney for the Christmas decorations.
I’d like to see them sometime, but not this year.
Disneyland just wouldn’t be the same in my condition.
Maybe we can plan a Christmas trip in the next few years.
So if you’re like me and just can’t get to Disneyland you can recreate this drink at home.
All you need are three simple ingredients:
Lemonade (Like Simply Lemonade)
Limeade (Like Simply Limeade or Newman’s Own)
Creme de Menthe Syrup
- 1/2 cup Lemonade (Like Simply Lemonade)
- 1/2 cup Limeade (Like Simply Limeade or Newman's Own)
- 1T Creme de Menthe Syrup
- Stir all ingredients together.
- Garnish with mint leaves and/or maraschino cherries.
You can garnish with mint leaves or maraschino cherries.
While they are not needed I think they make the drink a little more special.
Plus I like maraschino cherries and this is the perfect excuse to eat more of them.
If you are craving one of these at Disneyland you can find them over in New Orleans near the Haunted Mansion and the train station.
Speaking of going to Disneyland, have you looked into planning your next trip through Get Away Today?
They are still offering layaway.
You only need $125 down and then you can make as many payments as you would like as long as you pay off your trip at least two weeks before you leave.
We have used Get Away Today for our last two trips to Disneyland and I am planning to book another trip with their layaway program soon.
Definitely check it out if you are in the market for a Disney vacation.
