This recipe will show you how to quickly DIY hand sanitizer with your favorite essential oil blends.
A while back I did a post comparing several big-name all-natural cleaners. If you are interested you can check out my Essential Oils for Cleaning: Do They Really Work post here.
One of the cleaners that I tested was the Protect blend essential oil from Jade Bloom.
The results were so amazing with just a few drops of oil and water that I decided to start using it as a hand sanitizer.
If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the results of the test with this amazing blend.
I like to use Protect from Jade Bloom. It smells amazing. And it did phenomenal in my test.
Can you use something else? Sure.
I didn’t test another brand so I can’t say one way or another if these results will be duplicated by another brand. But you do you.
Supplies
Protect Blend Essential Oil
Water
Mist spray bottle
You also are going to need a spray bottle of some sort. I love these little mister ones.
They fit right in my purse or into a diaper bag. Plus it sprays a really fine mist.
How to make homemade hand sanitizer
All you need to do is open up your spray bottle and put 5 drops of your essential oil blend in.
I only used 5, but if you want to use more you can. Just know that it’s a small spray bottle.
If I were using a bigger spray bottle I would definitely add more.
Then fill it the rest of the way with water. Remember to leave room to put the lid and straw back in.
Screw it on and shake it up. That’s it. You’re done.
It’s the easiest hand sanitizer. I feel like my hands are cleaner after I have used it. They also smell amazing.
And it might be boosting my immune system. So that is a perk.
If you don’t feel like just oils are going to cut it, you could add some rubbing alcohol for its germ-killing abilities.
Do you use a DIY hand sanitizer?
Or just an essential oil as a hand sanitizer?
I’d love to hear more about it down in the comments below.

[…] This test still does not speak to the quality of the essential oil itself, but it definitely works well as a cleaner. I’ve been using the little spray bottle as my diy hand sanitizer. […]
