This Christmas inspired sugar scrub smells and tastes just like the holiday season. It is quick and easy to make and would be a great addition to any gift. If you are looking for a last minute present look no farther.
The weather has taken a drastic turn for the cold here. You know what that means? Dry winter skin. Yuck. Want to know a great way to combat it? Gingerbread sugar scrub. Not only does it moisturize your scaly skin, it also scrubs and buffs all the dried skin off. Plus it smells sweet and spicy, just like this time of year should.
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Place the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave until melted.
- Add the sugars and spices. Mix well.
- Place in jar.
- To Use: Wet skin. Place 1-2 tablespoons on to skin and rub in a circular motion. Be sure to concentrate on any particularly dry or rough areas. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.
This makes enough scrub to fill one half pint sized mason jar. But this recipe could easily be doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled to mix up enough for gifts.
The coconut oil moisturizes your skin and the combination of warm spices lifts your spirits on those dreary winter days.
Your skin will be a little oily once you rinse off the scrub, but that’s what you want. So just pat dry and your skin will absorb the oil.
This is great to keep by your skin or tub. You can use it to scrub anywhere you get dry winter skin.
This makes a great gift and is so easy to make you’ll want to whip up a batch for all the loved ones in your life.
