A quick, candy-less, free printable Valentine for kids of all ages.
Are you following me on Instagram? If so, then you know I’ve been trying to getting organized lately. One day in my endeavors I came across a bag of finger flashlights (affiliate) that I had purchased for the kids to use while trick-or-treating. They were a HUGE hit by the way. The kids loved them and I loved that it made our party really visible. I purchased a set of 40 and about 6 of them didn’t want to work. But they are just a simple circuit so with a little fiddling most of them worked. I think I had only 2 real duds in the package.
Now, I didn’t need 40 flashlights for trick-or-treating. It was just so much cheaper to buy them that way. I know Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby also had them in a 4 pack for $1-3 a pack. Dollar Tree had theirs around Halloween and I saw them at Hobby Lobby on the party aisle. My mother-in-law bought the same pack and handed them out to trick-or-treaters.
Thor loves these flashlights. He says he needs them to keep the mummy’s away. That kid’s imagination is something else. He likes to shine the light in dark corners and closets.
Anyway, I found my bag of leftovers when I was going through some things and I still had about 20 in there. That’s more than enough for Thor’s little preschool class. So I made up a quick printable, we taped a flashlight to each, and called them done. He was very excited to take them to school. His class loved them. The Instagram picture is the original that we gave to his class. I have fancied up the printable a bit since then.
This is something that every kid can enjoy as it is a great option for a candy free Valentine. Now if we could just get them to stop shining the light in each other’s eyes. Want to make some of your own? Get the printable here.
