The other day I went to Blue Lemon for lunch with my mom. I was looking at the menu and I noticed a side item of apple slices and toffee dip that you could add to your meal. Of course I had to try it. I mean, toffee dip? How could I not?
It was super delicious. I wished I had ordered four sides of toffee dip. So I decided to make some of my own at home.
It was really simple too. You just need a few ingredients.
- 1 package of cream cheese, softened
- 2/3 cup of brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 oz of Heath toffee bits
- Put softened cream cheese into a mixer.
- Add brown sugar and vanilla.
- Cream together.
- Add toffee bits and mix throughly.
You want to be sure that you mix the cream cheese and sugar really well. The sugar will dissolve into the cheese. You don’t want your dip to be grainy.
If you are like me, you don’t want to wait until the cream cheese softens. I cheat. I will put cold cream cheese in my mixer and give it a spin to break up the bar. Then I let it sit for a few minutes and mix it again. I have nice, soft cream cheese in less than 10 minutes.
The Heath toffee bits add some actual toffee as well as some chocolate. Yum! I actually put my toffee bits through my food processor for a couple pulses so that there weren’t any really big chunks. But this step is not necessary.
I served it with apple slices but it would be delicious with pears too.
I set up for these photos on my coffee table and I decided that I wanted a different napkin in the background so I went back to my kitchen. When I returned from the kitchen Thor was at the coffee table. I’m sure he was thinking “Jackpot! Snack time!” Luckily Ricky was able to grab him before he dug in. Don’t worry. I let him have some after I got some photos.

Oh, I bet it’s good with chocolate chips. Kinda like a chocolate chip cookie dough deal. Yum!

I’m not the only one that borrows recipes from restaurants? I try to copy-cat recipes all the time… they don’t always turn out so good though. Oops. This sounds like a great treat I can’t wait to try it out with my kiddo.

Hahaha. Mine don’t always turn out either. Your kids will love it. And if it gets them to eat more fruit, it works right?

Toffee bits are my weakness and this dip looks fantastic!! Is it also okay to spread this over morning toast for breakfast?! YUM!
Amber Simmons says
Definetly. I think I read that toffee bits are part of a balanced diet.
