How to upload your own images and designs to Cricut Design Space is one of the most frequently asked questions I see on the internet.
It really is a simple thing to do, however, it’s a bit of a process.
First, you need to image. You want to save it to your computer. Whatever that image is. I think it works best if you can do a simpler image, but it is possible to do something more complex like a photo. It’s just going to take longer. And not have as crisp of lines.
Once you have your image saved to your computer you want to open up your Cricut Design Space and on the left-hand sidebar at the bottom you want to click the upload icon.
It will bring you to the upload screen or you can choose to upload an image or a pattern. You want to choose the image option.
Then you will select the image you want to upload from where you saved it on your computer.
Next, you’re going to need to edit your image. Basically, you need to make everything that you don’t want to be part of the image transparent. So that includes the background and any little cutouts that you want.
There is a preview button on the bottom in the middle where you can preview tell the image is coming along. This helps you to see if you have edited out everything you want to get rid of.
I typically use the magic wand button, but cropping and erasing are also very helpful tools depending on the project.
Once you’re done you can just save it to your Cricut Design Space. Be sure to name it and add any relevant terms to it so that you can find it in your image searches later. It will also be stored under the upload icon as well.
Then you are free to use it in your Cricut Design Space. You can open it up and resize it and cut it.
