Are you envious of those with super long, beautiful mermaid hair? Do you want long, luxurious locks? Me too. Well, my hair is long, but I want it to be longer. So I decided to try to making some DIY mermaid hairspray.
Who else loves mermaids?
Me!!
They always seem to have such long, perfect hair.
Okay. I know that they aren’t real, but a girl can dream.
I also would love to have some long, gorgeous hair.
Yes, I could totally get hair extensions, but I don’t want to do that.
I would rather keep it all natural.
So when I came across this pin a while back I added it to my list of things to try.
Homemade Mermaid Hairspray Recipe
I finally made some up. It’s really simple. It’s just a mix of essential oils and a carrier.
Supplies
30 drops Lavender essential oil
30 drops Cedarwood essential oil
30 drops Rosemary essential oil
2-3 oz of alcohol-free witch hazel
4 oz glass spray bottle
Add all the essential oils to the glass spray bottle and then add the witch hazel. You want to use alcohol-free witch hazel so that it’s not drying to your hair and scalp.
Shake and spray in your hair at the roots and massage in.
You can add some to the ends as well for a full hair care.
Use it after you get out of the shower, before bedtime, or any other time you want.
I love the way it smells. I did just start using it so I can’t say for sure if it really helps promote hair growth, but it can’t hurt.
And who knows?
Maybe I can have mermaid hair by the summer.
My hair is already past my shoulders after all.
Have you tried this spray before? I would love to hear how it worked for you.
Did you know that I have a Simply Stylish Facebook group? It’s a beauty and fashion community for women who want to feel confident in their appearance but don’t want to spend a lot of time or money. I would love for you to join us.

I am so going to try this. I have witch hazel. I just pray it won’t dry my hair.

Can I leave out the Lavender? I recall my hair stylist ( Starting to go bald now) telling me that her father used this same formula but just with the Rosemary and Cedarwood. Is the lavender more for scent or do I need to keep it in there for other reasons? Thought about adding Tea Tree oil for scent. Would that be ok?

I meant to say that I’m thinning at the top,..NOT my stylist! LOL.
Her dad actually had great hair regrowth just using the Cedarwood and Rosemary Oils. I would rather leave the Lavender out since I do not like that scent…unless it is really required.
Wonder if I should add Carrot seed oil too?

You totally could leave out the lavender.
