Every year for his birthday my husband has a LAN party with his friends. They get together, bring their TVs and/or computers and play video games together all night long. This year Ricky decided that he wanted to take it a step further and make it into a charity event. He talked to his friends over at Out Of Our System about it and with their help Cheat Codes for Charity was born.
They are going to be holding a 24 hour game-a-thon, this Friday at 6 pm Mountain Time, where 100% of the proceeds will go to Child’s Play. Once the charity event is live you will be able to watch a stream of them playing games from the Cheat Codes For Charity site. So you can check in any time during the 24 hour period and someone will be playing.
Child’s Play is a charity that raises money to place games and books in hospitals to help make the children’s stay more fun. If you wish to donate you can do so from their website. The donations go directly to Child’s Play through PayPal. However, Cheat Codes For Charity will be able to see who donated and how much, for prize purposes. Every $5 you donate buys you a ticket into a raffle for some cool prizes. So head over and check it out. Be sure to donate if you wish and help them reach their goal of $500 in total donations.
