This LipSense layering guide will show you how to use a few colors to create tons of color combinations.
Did you know that you don’t have to use the same color of LipSense for all three layers?
If you have three different LipSense colors you can layer them twenty-seven different ways.
27!
So how do you get twenty-seven different combinations? From the layering chart below you can see that it all depends on the order the colors are applied.
Are some combinations going to look very similar? Sure. You are still working with just three colors.
Layering is a great way to expand your range of colors without having to buy all of the LipSense colors.
It lets you mix it up just a little day by day. Plus it’s fun to experiment and see what kinds of colors you can come up with.
I have several colors, but I keep coming back to my core three to layer and mix it up. I would recommend something neutral, something bright, and something bold. So for me, I have Pink Champagne, neutral, Blu-Red, bright, and Napa, bold.
These colors look great by themselves and they are so fun to layer and create new colors.
Sometimes I want to wear red, but Blu-Red by itself is just too bold for me that day. That’s when I layer. One layer of Blue-Red with two Pink Champagne over top is still bright, but softer. Or maybe I’ll put two Blue-Red with Napa on top. This gives me a darker, rich red.
Also, consider the finishes of the colors. Blue-Red is matte, Pink Champagne is frosted and Napa is a shimmer. Another one to layer with Icicle. It’s clear. So it will tone down whatever you put it with and make it more sheer looking. It helps you to get your three layers on without adding more color.
