You need a Perler bead storage solution if you are into beading at your house. This simple solution will keep your beads all sorted and stored as well as all the accessories.

Last summer my mom and I thought that Thor would love perler beads.
Who doesn’t enjoy sitting down and creating your own pattern in plastic beads, then melting them together with a hot iron?
A three-year-old. That’s who.
We thought he would like it because he LOVED puzzles.
He would, and still will just sit and puzzle for hours.
Singing “Everyday I’m puzzlin’.” to himself.
Unfortunately for us he just didn’t have the patience to sit and complete a design.
Not even a quarter of one.
This year he’s totally loving it.
Which is good.
Because we amassed quite the collection of perler beads and accessories last summer.
So how do we store it all?

I’m glad you asked.
We wanted to be able to sort all the colors out, but also store the plates and design books.
We decide to use a grab and go storage container.
It has the pull-out storage boxes that we could sort the beads into, as well as the storage space up top where we keep the plates and design books.

We got this storage container at Harbor Freight. It’s $15.
And you can almost always use a 20% off coupon. Making it $12. Which is so much cheaper than at the craft stores.
It’s not as pretty as some of the other ones at the craft stores and Amazon, but you can’t beat the price.

The storage container comes with four divided storage boxes.
You can move some of the divers around to decide how big you need each space to be.
We sorted red and orange into one.
Yellow and green into the second. Blue and purple into the third.
And neutrals into the fourth. Even with the large number of beads we have there is still room to add more.

Are you ready to get started on your perler bead journey?
I would recommend tweezers, these large interlocking plates, and the basic shapes.
The nice thing about the clear plates is that you can print off designs and put the plate on top to follow along.
Great for younger kids. The pattern books also allow you to place the plate on top of the pattern.
You can also order this huge container of 22,000 mixed beads. Order just one color or order color families.
