Educational toddler gift ideas. STEM toys are the perfect gift that kids will love to play with again and again.
It’s time to start thinking about holiday gifts again. And if you have a child in your life they no doubt want toys. Luckily, most of the toys on my list this year are STEM toys. STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics. So they are great for kids to learn through play.
Every kid loves Legos. And with this Classic box they can play them just the way we used to.
Thor received these gears for his third birthday and loves them.
Thor also got Magformers for his birthday and they have been an enormous hit! They are great for the baby too because he can start exploring magnets without being able to fit them in his mouth.
Memory games are also a great choice. They come in so many fun styles, including this Marvel matching game, and they are so easy to change difficulty based off the child. Just start with a few matches and work your way up to the whole box.
Who remembers playing with these pattern blocks in school? I do. I loved them. They are a great way to expand your mind and see how different shapes fit together. Plus it sneaks in some geometry basics as you learn about how all the angles match up.
Where’s Waldo was a favorite of mine when I was young. It is a great gift because it’s hours of entertainment and it teaches patience and attention to detail.
Another great seek and find book choice is I Spy. With so many different variations you can add a new one every gift giving occasion.
I also found this awesome kids sudoku game called ColorKu. It is more of a little kid game, but if your toddler is on the older/advanced end I think it is a fantastic idea. Sudoku is a great way to exercise your brain and I would love for Thor to learn the reasoning skills required for this game at a young age. Don’t forget to get the refill cards for more puzzles.
Thor loves his dot markers. I draw shapes or letters out for him and he follows the lines and dots along.
