What is the Cricut Joy and how is it different from the Cricut Explorer Air 2 or the Cricut Maker?
Cricut recently announced its newest addition to the Cricut cutting machine family. The Cricut Joy is the next hot Cricut item.
Despite its smaller size, there is a lot that the Cricut Joy can do to make creating easier than ever.
The Cricut Joy is the newest machine in the Cricut family. It allows makers to create any time, anywhere, with ease.
The Cricut Joy is smaller than both of these machines. Despite its size, it can do things the Explorer Air 2 and the Maker can not do.
This little cutie can cut up to 4.5″ wide. So it is quite a bit smaller than the other Cricut machines.
While the Cricut Joy can only cut 4.5″ wide, it can cut up to 4 feet continuously or a repeating design up to 20 feet.
The Cricut Joy is able to cut longer cuts than the Explorer Air and the Maker because of its ability to cut matless.
Yes and no. With the new specially designed smart materials you have the ability to cut matless.
The Cricut Joy does have the ability to cut on a mat too. It comes with a 4.5″ by 6.5″ mat that allows you to cut materials that you have at home. You can also purchase a 4.5″ by 12″ mat.
The Cricut Joy family also includes a new mat specially designed to make cards.
This amazing mat allows you to make cards in a couple of minutes. The Cricut Joy Card Mat has a pocket to slide the back of the card into, then you fold the front of the card over on top of the mat and stick it down.
Cricut Joy will cut a design in the front of the card while leaving the back of the card intact in the protective pocket of the mat.
With the Cricut Joy, Cricut announced Smart Materials. These materials are specially designed to be cut without a mat.
This family includes Smart Vinyl, Smart Iron-on, and Smart Label. These materials allow you to cut the length of the material, up to 20 feet.
Cricut Joy can cut 50+ materials, including all the popular materials such as iron-on, vinyl, cardstock, paper, and infusible ink.
The Cricut Joy has the ability to use a cutting blade and a pen.
Cricut Joy as Bluetooth connectivity. You can use your laptop, tablet, or phone to create projects to cut with your Cricut Joy.
Cricut Joy will be available to purchase on Cricut.com or at Michael’s on March 1, 2020.
Cricut Joy will retail for $179.99.
I think the Cricut Joy looks like a really fun machine and I can’t wait to try it out.
What do you think? Are you going to try it?
